The Barn at Grahams Farm
The farm is only a couple miles south of Atlin near the mouth of Pine Creek. Consisting of flat, sparsely wooded land spread along the shoreline of Atlin Lake, homesteader Sam Johnson decided it was perfect for farming. In the early 1900s Johnson grew strawberries and root vegetables. He dug two enormous root cellars so he could provide Atlinites with fresh vegetables year-round.
Through the many years and many owners, hay and even fox farming, among other ventures, were tried with varying degrees of success.
Painted by Diane Solie Smith, circa 1990s.
