In the first half of the nineteen-sixties, my parents explored as much of South East Alaska as they could. Their trips took them to Wrangle, Petersburg, Haines and Skagway to name a few locations.
They spent a day exploring the abandoned Hirst-Chichagof gold mine. They climbed the Chilkoot Trail. They searched the ruins of the Perseverance and Tredwell mines in Juneau and Douglas and explored the tunnels of the Alaska Juneau Gold Mine inside Mount Roberts. Both of them took copious photos.
