Brad’s Work in Alaska
I never know quite what to say when I’m asked about my job. My customary go to is “Rural Construction in Alaska.”
But that’s usually interpreted as heavy equipment operation or pipeline welding.
I’ve also been asked about igloos and tennis racket; snow shoes and a number of other absurd scenarios but an overwhelming majority seem happy with my first response and quickly change the subject.
On those rare occasions we get as far as a second question, I’m often so encouraged I dropped the “weatherization” word too soon. It’s the inevitable conversation stopper. I’ve watched eyes glaze over and I’ve listened to their mumbled excuses about something they forgot to do.
Well, that is no longer the case. For the three of you who are curious, here’s a link to a twenty-minute video about what I do for a living, costarring me.
